Checkout Summit is coming to Sicily in 2025 — and we can’t pull it off without a few awesome humans helping behind the scenes. That’s where you come in.
We’re inviting a small group of volunteers to help us run the first-ever Checkout Summit. In return? A free ticket worth €399, plenty of networking, and bragging rights that you were part of making it all happen.
We’ll have 150 attendees, 12–14 speakers, 5–6 sponsors, and… you?
Volunteer Roles
Here are the roles we’re currently looking for (please note these may evolve as we get closer to the event).
1x Photographer
Capture the energy and moments of Checkout Summit. From keynotes to coffee breaks, you’ll capture the spirit of Checkout Summit. Your main tasks will be taking high-quality photos during sessions and networking, transferring images from SD cards to Flickr (?), and organizing them into the correct folders so they’re ready to share with our community.
- This is a full time role. Full coverage of speakers and some attendee activity is appreciated, but during downtime, you’re very welcome to attend sessions or mingle!
1x Videographer
Lights, camera, action! Help bring Checkout Summit to life on screen. You’ll record short clips, quick interviews, and behind-the-scenes moments to highlight the spirit of the event. Basically, you’ll make everyone wish they were there.
- This is a full time role. As long as you capture speaker interviews, collect some feedback videos, and record attendee activity, that’s perfect. During downtime, you’re very welcome to attend sessions or mingle!
1x Speaker Assistant & MC
Be the go-to person for our speakers and help keep the program on track. Your tasks include guiding speakers before and during their sessions, assisting with tech setup, keeping time, and running the microphone during Q&A. As MC, you’ll also introduce speakers, keep transitions smooth, and keep the energy flowing.
- This is a full time role during busy periods (e.g. 9am-4pm each day), but you’re more than welcome to take breaks, attend sessions, and enjoy networking whenever it’s quiet and there’s no immediate need for help.
1x Registration & Sponsor Wrangler
Welcome attendees as they arrive, hand out badges and swag, and make sure sponsors feel supported. You’ll be the main point of contact for sponsors, checking in regularly and relaying requests to the organizer.
- This is a full time role during busy periods (e.g. 9am-4pm each day), but you’re more than welcome to take breaks, attend sessions, and enjoy networking whenever it’s quiet and there’s no immediate need for help.

Do I need to buy a ticket to volunteer?
Yes, we recommend purchasing a ticket now to guarantee your spot at the event. Volunteers may not be selected for every role, so having a ticket ensures you don’t miss out. If you’re selected as a volunteer, we will refund your ticket.
Do I need experience to volunteer?
No prior experience is required; however, if you have relevant experience, please mention it in your application, as it will be taken into account when assigning roles.
